Nico, SoccerWHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT AS A BELMONT STUDENT-ATHLETE THUS FAR?

My most memorable athletic moment at Belmont is absolutely the 1-0 win against Presbyterian College during the second overtime. First of all, that was such an amazing win because it was the first win of the season last year and we worked so hard to get there. Second, it was personally satisfying because I had to make three big saves to keep the team in the game. I will never forget the faces of my teammates celebrating for the win and all the nice words players of Presbyterian College had for me.

HOW HAS YOUR EXPERIENCE AT BELMONT HELPED YOU GROW AS A PERSON?

Belmont is like a big family. Since I came here I definitely learned how to freely offer my best smile and kindness to everyone I meet around campus. Especially in the athletic department, the first thing that stuck out to me was how nice people were with me—always smiling and making sure everything was ok. In addition, in my two years at Belmont I definitely got the awareness that being an athlete is a huge responsibility since everywhere I go, I always represent my program. Therefore, before making a decision or doing something I think ‘Would my
team or my coach be proud of me if the saw me doing this?’ or ‘Would this make my team reputation better?’ and this has really helped me become a more responsible person.
