Maddie Wright, BasketballWHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT AS A BELMONT STUDENT-ATHLETE THUS FAR?

It’s so hard to pick one, but my most memorable athletic at Belmont so far was this past year when we played at Tennessee. We may have lost the game, but it was close all the way until the end. It was such a historic stage to play on, and the atmosphere was electric as we played. It was one of those games you dream about playing in college. The energy in the arena was indescribable. And to say at one point we were giving a top-10 team in the country at the time a run for their money is something special too.

HOW HAS YOUR EXPERIENCE AT BELMONT HELPED YOU GROW AS A PERSON?

Belmont has challenged me in every area of my life. Academically, being able to do nursing school and play basketball is so special. That is truly something that is not offered everywhere, and to have instructors so supportive and willing to see the athletes they have in class succeed has benefited me so much. Spiritually, I was able to take a mission trip with my team over the summer and it has forever changed my life. I grew so much with my team, and now I not only have sisters for life, but sisters in Christ. Belmont has helped me be more well-rounded and expand my horizons. Belmont is a rare and special place because of the people who work so hard to make it feel like home!
